Our Christmas Concert was themed a sweet holiday and we heard songs of christmas cookies, dances about gingerbreadmen, movement about chocolate, and instruments about sugar plum fairies. Our Eagles showed up and gave their best effort, despite the freezing temperatures that kept most kids out to the building for the 2 weeks prior to performance. Well done!

During the month of September, students have been introduced to a number of songs, some of which include playing the xylophones for accompaniment.
Grade 6 & 7s have been learning Thump, a 4 part introductory marimba piece. Grade 4 & 4 have been learning Simon, a catchy, upbeat marimba song. Grade 2 & 3 have been dancing up a storm, with Alabama Gal, Sasha, and Tideo. They have learned to accompany Tideo with Xylophones and are working to play it in parts. Stencil making in grade 6-7 is a difficult challenge for students. They careful carve out shapes and dye fabrics to leave behind negative and positive spaces in their art.
